Next meeting...

Our next meeting will take place Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 7:00 in the Staff Room. We will be voting on our vacant positions as well as whether or not to support the band program.

The new playground is here!
The playground is finished and the kids seem to be really enjoying it!
$30,000 was raised to purchase this much needed playground equipment for the kids!
Congratulations to everyone involved on a job well done!!!

Christmas Catalogue - Due back by Oct 2nd
By now your child should have brought home their Christmas Catalogue fundraiser package. This campaign runs from September 18th to October 2nd. It is important to remember to make sure that along with your child's name you also include the name of your child's teacher on the form. All cheques are to be made payable to Roy Wilcox PAC. Please ensure to keep the yellow copy for your records.

Vacant Executive Positions
The parent voice at the school level, advising on any matter relevant to the school. Represents the collective views of parent/guardians of children in a school.

As previously noted, we have three vacant positions on our Executive. These positions will be nominated and voted on at the October 19/06 PAC Meeting. Maybe one is right for you.The positions are:
Co-Chair: Assists with Chair duties along with Chairperson, Kathy Demelo.
Secretary: Attends monthly PAC meetings and records the minutes. Also required to distribute minutes through email following the meeting and as well have hard copies available at the next meeting.
DPAC (District Parent Advisory Council) Rep: Liaison between PAC, DPAC and BCCPAC. This person is the parent voice at the School District Level; informing, advising and educating. Respresents the collective view of PACs in a school district....a valuable link between local PACs and the school board. Required to attend both PAC and DPAC meetings. DPAC meetings occur approx. 3 times per year.

Have you always wanted to know what the PAC does and what we are all about? Now is the perfect time to find out! Join us after "Meet the Teacher" night on Thursday, September 28th at 7:30 pm for a PAC Social. Come enjoy some refreshments and snacks and meet the PAC Executive. We would love to tell you why we are a committed and energetic team and why we hope you'll join us.
